Monica & Joe is a contemporary online boutique of personally selected womenswear designer collections. The founders are husband and wife team, Joe and Monica Wahla, who before deciding to follow a dream and launch their own online boutique had twenty years’ experience each in the fashion industry.
This has ranged from roles for Joe as Group Merchandise Director for the luxury British brand Mulberry, and also as Buying and Merchandising Director for Ted Baker, and for Monica, after working for many years as a buyer for the Arcadia Group for brands such as Miss Selfridge and finally Dorothy Perkins, culminating there as Head of Buying.
The idea for Monica & Joe came from a trip to Paris where in areas like the Marais there are so many individual boutiques selling inspirational and exciting brands. Monica & Joe saw a gap in the British market for cool and unique luxury brands that were affordable, and started seeking out labels that they discovered on their travels to exciting cities like Paris, Copenhagen and of course London.
This has led to the launch of their own online boutique, cherry picking from their favourite designer collections from across Europe and continuing to add hot new and established labels every season. The creative vision for Monica & Joe comes from comes from the love of beautiful clothes and a sense of personal style, with a desire to put together through a journey of discovery a range of pieces that will update and complement any wardrobe at affordable luxury prices. The clothes are beautiful, cool and feminine investment pieces that can be worn season after season, to work, in the evening, and at weekends...
